Chief Technical Officer

Today, he is the Chief Technical Officer for Canada’s Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association and the creative/technical lead on Project Arrow: Canada’s first electric concept vehicle project.

Former EyesOn Design Judge at NAIAS (Detroit, USA)

Colin is the only Canadian judge on the EyesOn Design panel at the annual North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) for the past several years.

Design Thinker

With over thirty years of experience working as a designer in consumer products, medical equipment and the automotive sector, Colin has emerged from an industrial designer to a problem solver – a design thinker. It’s on the foundation of design thinking that Colin leads multi-faceted teams, including design, technology, engineering and manufacturing, and for innovation to succeed. These past two decades have allowed him to work with global brands like General Motors, Toyota and Stellantis, on innovative award-winning products like the Dodge RamBox® Cargo Management System.

Nurturing the Next Gen of Innovators

Colin’s interest in design thinking and the dissemination of his ideas dates back to 1999, when he began teaching. He spent over a decade teaching various courses, ranging from helping students generate and conceptualize ideas to instructing on Design Management and Ergonomics, all with the goal of promoting innovation.

Service to Canada

In 2012, Colin was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his significant contributions to Canada. In 2017, Colin was recognized as one of the ‘500 global Sikh Role Models’.

Documentary Film maker

In 2016 Colin wrote and directed the California-funded documentary film, The Lion That Lost His Roar, telling the tragic story of Prince Victor Albert Jay Duleep Singh.

Philanthropy
